Vacation's over

We started putting in hay yesterday, so time to work again. Not that we had much time in between planting and haying, just a couple of rainy days. Sure would be nice to have good weather for about 2 weeks, get all the hay in and have a couple of weeks of less demanding work to do!

One good thing, with the road construction going on, we have a lot less traffic to deal with, especially all the yuppies on the weekend who don't know how to slow down for farm equipment. Of course, there is that we have to drive 3 times as far to get to town, but generally we just stay away and plan our trips accordingly to get all our errands down in one shot. It's amazing how a person takes going to town for granted when it's only 2 miles away and gas prises aren't so high. Guess this is what people in other countries feel since supposedly their gas prices are higher than here.

Oh well, life is still good and we are happy. Everybody have a great day!

Did the weather hold out today or did you get the weather we had earlier this morning?

The weather held out. We got off what we had ready. Now if it can hold off again today, they're saying it should go south of us, we hopefully can cut some more this morning and put it in this afternoon. You ask how we can do that? It's because the hay is so old already (should have been done a month ago) and where we have to cut is on gravel underneath so, it will dry quicker.
